Pastora started singing copla and flamenco songs at several events when she was a child. From 1994 until 2012 Pastora released 10 successful albums and had a couple of hits like Dámelo Ya and Bendita Locura. In 2011 Pastora was nominated for a Latin Grammy.

On 21 December 2011 she was selected internally by RTVE to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song Quédate Conmigo, written by Thomas G:son, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson and Erik Bernholm, was chosen as her entry in a special live show.
